Follow on Google News | CITF Hosted Technology Awards Recognise The Importance of Technology Teams During COVID-19By: CITF Technology departments have been one of the unsung heroes of the UK's coronavirus lockdown. In a matter of days after the 23rd March lockdown announcement, IT teams in organisations of all sizes and across industry swung into action and provided the technology and services which allowed their colleagues to keep being productive. Thousands of businesses have managed to transition to an entirely new way of working thanks to the efforts of technology teams. CITF had over 50 submissions from various organisations such as RBS, HMRC, Royal Mail, Tesco, Arsenal FC (just to name a few) rover the month of June, and the winner was selected by a panel of judges comprised of industry CIOs, CTOs and experts. Two organisations of over 50 were awarded a 'highly commended' award. RBS was one of those teams as they deployed robots that automatically fulfilled thousands of capital repayment holidays for customers in financial need. The second organisation was the NEC group for their work transforming two of their event venues into Nightingale facilities for the NHS as well as their successful piloting of remote working. The winner of the Best IT Team During COVID-19 award was HMRC for their delivery of IT schemes for not one, but three, of the UK Chancellor's financial schemes to support those affected by lockdown; The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, Self Employed Income Support Scheme, and Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme. All were launched ahead of schedule and have helped in excess of 11 million individuals. The 'can-do' attitude of all those who submitted was nothing short of inspiring. It was an evening celebrating the best of IT and technology, and those who make it what it is. The announcements can be viewed here: https://www.real- https://citf.tech/ End
