Plano Native Awarded $1000 National Allied Health Scholarship

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - July 20, 2020 - PRLog -- The team at Platinum Educational Group understands the struggles and obstacles that are presented to students obtaining higher education in the healthcare industries. In 2015, Platinum Educational Group launched its inaugural scholarships program geared at Emergency Medical Services (EMS) students. In 2016, the company expanded its product line to include nursing and allied health fields. It only seemed fitting to expand its scholarships program to include the hardworking and dedicated students in those fields as well.

The 2020 allied health scholarship was awarded to Texas Woman's University student Blair Baumann from Plano, Texas. The field of dental hygiene interested Blair because of the opportunity to directly connect with patients in educating them on how the oral cavity affects local and systemic health.  After graduation, Ms. Baumann intends to work clinically at a private practice, volunteer her free time at non-profit charities in promoting oral hygiene, and eventually pursue a career as a dental hygiene professor. Ms. Blair's thesis was an in-depth look at combating clinical burnout in the realm of dental hygiene.  "As the demand for both efficiency and quality increases within dentistry, so does the risk for oral health professionals to experience clinical burnout," stated Ms. Baumann.  "However, with the right mindset and guidelines, we can ease the strain and extensive demand placed on healthcare workers in society today."

One of Platinum Educational Group's goals is to aid students entering healthcare professions via their annual scholarship program.  "It's an honor to support these deserving students who will become leaders and mentors in their professions," stated Platinum CEO Jason Jensen.
