Unreasonable Kids™, Training the Next Generation of Kid- Superheroes, Recognized through UN SDG Action Campaign

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - July 20, 2020 - PRLog -- The UN SDG Action Campaign recognized Unreasonable Kids™ as one of the Solidarity Award's featured stories, a special call from the annual UN SDG Action Awards 2020. The Founder of Unreasonable Kids™, Ateba Gaines, as a little girl, imagined becoming a superhero. As a child, her favorite superhero that she dreamed of becoming was Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman's depiction of a heroine fighting injustice and seeking ways to solve a conflict led her to become a superhero as an adult; however, fighting injustice differently through social entrepreneurship.

Ms. Gaines's heroine fight was domestic human trafficking, where she started a social enterprise called Shoe Revolt to raise funds by auctioning celebrity shoes. Many celebrity supporters donated personal artifacts, and memorabilia includes Sarah Jessica Parker, Lea Michele, Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Taylor Swift, Jada Smith, along with Shark Tank's Barbara Corcoran. She was a finalist in the Women Deliver Social Enterprise sponsored by Clinton Global Initiatives, Featured Innovator and Featured Change Maker by ABCs 14C Campaign, and featured on MTV, MTV Exit, and MTV Act.

Now Ms. Gaines is helping other kids discover their inner superhero power. In response to Covid-19,  Ms. Gaines created an empowerment series, which was recognized by the UN SDG Action Campaign because of her commitment to building sustainable communities by training the next generation of superheroes through Unreasonable Kids™.
