BALTIMORE - July 17, 2020 - PRLog -- Black Girls Vote is an organization that prides themselves on celebrating the excellence of Black women who break barriers and blaze trails. With that in mind, the organization decided to celebrate one of their biggest supporters, Joy-Ann Reid. Reid has been tapped to fill the highly coveted 7:00 pm prime-time slot on MSNBC previously held by television veteran Chris Matthews.

When her show goes live Monday, July 20th at 7:00 pm, Reid will become the first and only Black woman to host a daily prime-time cable news program. As an advocate of democracy and Black women's voting rights, Black Girls Vote is incredibly proud of her and wants to show it!

There is no doubt of what the collective public can do when the decision is made to all come together. Black Girls Vote is reaching out to the nation to help them celebrate and to lift the voice of yet another Black woman. Nykidra "Nyki" Robinson, Founder & CEO of Black Girls Vote, says, "Joy has been so supportive of many of us, and organizations like Black Girls Vote. Now it is our time to support her. We want Black women and Black womens' organizations from all over to join us in this historic moment." The organization is also honored to be working alongside Color Vision and Stewart Strategies & Solutions; organizations led by dynamic Black women to amplify this initiative.

On Monday, July 20th at 7:00 pm, join Black Girls Vote as they work to do the following:
  • Encourage thousands of Black women to sign the Virtual Card for Joy.
  • Recruit other Black womens' organizations to promote and join the movement.
  • Request Black women create and post well wishes videos to social media platforms using the hashtag #TheReidOut.

Mia Davis, Founder of Color Vision states, "Black women have been underrepresented in journalism since its inception. I'm thrilled that Joy-Ann Reid is changing the narrative for black women everywhere as the first black woman to lead a primetime nightly cable news show. This is history and little black girls everywhere will be able to look at her and say, I can do that too!"

Kimberly A. Woodard, Strategic Partnerships Associate at Stewart Strategies & Solutions shares, "Watching Joy-Ann on MSNBC and live tweeting during her show is a must for political nerds. The AM Joy Show was appointment TV; and The ReidOut will be no different. When it was announced that Joy-Ann would be moving to prime time, I'm pretty sure I heard her fellow political nerds around the country cheering loudly for her!"

Before the premiere, Black Girls Vote is hosting a pre kick-off celebration online that will feature a DJ and great conversation! You can RSVP to attend by visiting https://bit.ly/thereidoutrsvp.
