Ayurveda, which literally means "the science of life", is the natural healing system used throughout India, Srilanka, Nepal for centuries. Ayurveda was originally known to have been first developed and established by the great sages who developed India's original systems of medicine,  meditation and Yoga. The study of Ayurveda includes herbals, minerals, dietetics, body work, surgery, pancha Karma therapies, psychology and spirituality.

After India's independence, Ayurvedic medicine was taught for many years as an integrated curriculum both ayurvedic and modern medicine together until mid 70s and later on many of those physicians became MBBS doctors. Now Ayurvedic medicine has over 400 Ayurvedic colleges, Universities in India where BAMS ( Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery, a 6 a 6 yrs degree) , MD, Ph.D are offered to students.

India received its Independence over 70 years ago, yet at the present date, India has not discovered a single molecule. Current modern  drugs, such as morphine, digitalis, dopamine, reserpine etc, and many many more have been derived from the Ayurvedic  medicinal plants of India .

Currently, functional food and health supplements, phyto chemicals, such as curcumin (from turmeric), ashwagandha, gugul, Amla, Garcinia, bioperine (Gol Maricha) Moringa ( Sajina), Tulsi, Vasak, ginger and hundreds of  ayurvedic  isolated plants (in Capsules or tablets  form) are being validated and widely sold in supermarkets, pharmacies, health food stores, Wholefoods, Costco and Amazon in the USA, Canada and Europe.

Due to the onset of COVID-19 pandemic, Ayurvedic strategy of increasing human immunity is winning credibility and markets worldwide at the cost of Chinese Traditional Medicine which contains animal products.
