California Governor Declared 'Adversus Christus,' Church Issues Ferendae Sententiae Excommunication

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - July 9, 2020 - PRLog -- The Marcionite Christian Church, founded in 144 A.D., has declared California Governor, Gavin Newsom to be 'Adversus Christus' (Against Christ) and after a thorough review of his edicts targeting Christians has issued a FERENDAE SENTENTIAE EXCOMMUNICATION order.

"We remind Mr. Newsom that while he is free to worship a flu virus and establish it as his new personal religion, he is not free to harass and persecute millions of Christians with petty, vindictive and malicious edicts without severe consequences," read the statement from the Judicial Vicar of Pontiate Affairs.

The statement continues, "We are aware that, for whatever reason, Mr. Newsom still claims to be of the Catholic faith despite his self-evident hostility to its adherents and we are hopeful his Diocese will view our actions as a model in dealing with their wayward member. Our concern in the matter is for all Christians that live in the state under his spiritually unlawful rule, not just Catholics. Our records indicate Mr. Newsom was baptized and that makes the FERENDAE SENTENTIAE EXCOMMUNICATION order applicable to him as a Christian."

The order mandates the following punitive actions;

Res Sacrae, Ritus, Communio, Crypta, Potestas, Praedia Sacra, Forum, and Civilia Jura Vetantur are REVOKED as of this Ninth Day of July, 2020.

The statement from the Judicial Vicar concludes with, "Because of the interfaith nature of the excommunication, any intercession, appeal and request for absolution can only come from the Prefect Emeritus of the Apostolic Signatura, Roman Curia."
