AdvisorSmith Discovers the Best Cities for Construction Workers

 
NEW YORK - July 9, 2020 - PRLog -- AdvisorSmith, a leading information resource for business advice and original research, released its newest study today that ranked 383 cities in the U.S. to determine the top 10 best cities for construction workers.

This study found the top cities for construction workers by city size and categorized them into small, midsize, and large cities. To rank the cities in this study, we focused on three data factors from each city: the location quotient, which measures the concentration of jobs on a per capita basis, the cost of living, and the average salaries for workers.

Exciting findings from our study were:

• Springfield, Ill. is the best city in the nation for construction workers. The city had 740 construction jobs, which was one percent above the national average, and the cost of living is 12 percent below the national average. Construction workers earned an average salary of $52,520, which is 26 percent above the national average.
• From our top 50 cities, the state of Washington had the highest number of best cities for construction workers. The state had six cities on our list, with Mount Vernon ranking the highest at #6.
• The top large cities for construction workers are Stockton, CA; Pittsburgh, PA; and Spokane, WA. The top midsize cities are Springfield, IL; Binghamton, NY; and Huntington, WV. The top small cities are Farmington, NM; Wheeling, WV; and Mount Vernon, WA.
