Justice Mwinde Announces Final Results On The Long-Pending Portland Cement Zambia Case

LUSUKA, Zambia - July 7, 2020 - PRLog -- The case of Portland Cement Zambia finally came to a close after more than ten years of court fights and patient waits. Dr. Rajan Mahtani, who registered the case at the Lusaka High Court, finally received justice but from the higher Court of Appeal. It was a long and tumultuous case as despite sharing enough evidences and testimonials, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani was not given relief. After stretching the seemingly straightforward case for more than ten years, Lusaka High Court came to a conclusion for this case in the month of May, 2018. The final decision was given by justice Nkonde who declared that Ventriglias were actual owners of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.

Dr. Rajan Mahtani countered this misdirected judgement at the higher Court of Appeal. The judge at the higher Court of Appeal was justice Mwinde who declared the final decision on 31st January 2019. According to this decision, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani owned 58 percent shares of the Portland Cement Zambia after making payment of one billion kwachas. This agreement was signed by all shareholders according to the original shareholders' agreement. Based on these evidences, justice Mwinde on behalf of the higher Court of Appeal announced Dr. Mahtani as the actual owner and majority shareholder of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.
