Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Residents COVID-Free

KINGSTON, N.Y. - June 26, 2020 - PRLog -- Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Golden Hill Drive in Kingston announced that all of its 253 residents have tested negative for COVID-19. Residents were swabbed by staff RNs to determine the results.

As mandated by the Governor, employees at the facility have been tested weekly to ensure the health and safety of everyone. In addition, hospitals are prohibited from discharging patients to nursing homes unless they test negative for the virus. Out of an abundance of caution, Golden Hill is requiring that all new admissions remain on surveillance for 14 days after arrival. "The residents' safety is always paramount," stated spokesperson Jason Newman. "Now that the state has started opening up in phases, we can't pretend the virus has just gone away, especially because the vast majority of the population we serve is extremely vulnerable."

The staff at Golden Hill continues to be vigilant in following intensive deep cleaning protocols throughout the facility and adhering to the recommendations of the CDC and DOH. "The Golden Hill team has always been committed to excellence, and our residents are our number one priority," stated Administrator Jeff Hoffman. "Our COVID-free status is a true testament to teamwork, and we couldn't be more proud of Golden Hill staff members for their effort."
