MOBILE, Ala. - June 23, 2020 - PRLog -- I have a dream that in the year 2030, four inner city kids will get on the "D Train" on 34th street heading towards the Bronx. They'll be coming from the 9th annual Juneteenth Parade which will end by where the Macy's department store use to be. Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. The boys, all high school juniors attend the parade for the first time. As a sign of solidarity, the boys will agree to only wear purple shirts for the 2031 school year. As the doors close on the 59th street station, I walk into the same train car with 22 other people. I have a dream all people, regardless of race, can put their egos to the side since what I propose involves a great deal of introspection and even then, it's an extremely difficult job. Instead of looking within, most of us spend our time trying to rationalize our behavior as a result of our lack of self awareness. Since we'll continue to be flawed, we should also know and understand the the most common defense mechanisms we use, We should ask each other for help pointing out underwhelming approaches we often overlook. I'm know not everyone feels as strong about race relations. Some members of our community aren't able to share rebellious views ....... continue reading http://stoopjuice.com/i-have-a-dream-2020-edition.pdf
