The Connected Commerce Council Announces ShearShare as Speakers for 2020 Tech Forward Webcast
Panelists Join Texas Land Commissioner to Discuss How Technology is Fueling & Growing the Local Economy
The 2020 Tech Forward Webcast is hosted in partnership with The Progressive Policy Institute (PPI), the Connected Commerce Council, R Street Institute, and the Texas Association of Business. The panelists will discuss issues facing small businesses due to COVID-19 and the importance of technology platforms and tools for empowering Texas businesses during a pandemic. The discussion will also cover pursuits in Washington, DC, and across the country of elected officials working to stifle the technology sector and prevent the industry from providing these needed services.
The conversation will cover:
• the current privacy landscape
• the need for clear privacy legislation and enforcement
• what consumers and corporate leaders seek from legislation, and
• the current landscape in Congress
"The significance of digital tools amidst the pandemic has been underscored by a recent study showing that one in three small business owners claim that they would have had to close all or part of their business without digital tools," says Jake Ward, President of the Connected Commerce Council.
Dr. Tye Caldwell, Cofounder & CEO of ShearShare, says, "Despite facing two pandemics, ShearShare is using technology to accelerate economic advancement for small business owners in our industry while fueling industry recovery. Tech has played and continues to play a significant role in our ability to empower our fellow professionals with business tools that maximize their earnings potential. Thank you to Jake and his team for shining a light on how digital is growing the local economy here in Texas."
The hour-long virtual event will kick off at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, with introductory remarks from Jeff Moseley of the Texas Association of Business. Registration is open online at https://tinyurl.com/
