Bolton book, another Rashomon account of White House dysfunction

Will revelations in Bolton's controversial book shut down Trump's chances for reelection? Just how teflon is Donald Trump?

WEST ORANGE, N.J. - June 21, 2020 - PRLog -- New York Journal of Books reviewer, Walter Clemens, equates John Bolton's sensational tell all about Trump as representing the Rashomon effect in politics. The Room Where it Happened, while yet one more perspective (of many that we have read and heard), it is particularly notable due to Bolton's court side perspective as the administration's former National Security Advisor.

White House legal representatives have been pushing to prevent publication, but a recent federal court ruling allows for the book's release next week. Americans may heave a sigh of relief knowing that first amendment considerations trump politics particularly in the face of the administration's efforts to skew federal courts to the right.

Reviewer, Walter Clemens, Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Boston University, claims the book casts a dark light on Trump, Bolton and the Republican party.

Bolton reveals himself as an egotistical opportunist, one who is now breaking his pledge to keep quiet about what he observed or heard inside the White House. But the book suggests still another line of criticism—one targeted at the Republican Party.

Should you read this book? If you want to understand Trump, and if you have the stomach to digest more of Trump's misguided and dangerous political maneuvers, The Room Where it Happened will be informative. Certainly, if you are on the fence about how to VOTE in November, this read may well guide your choice in the upcoming election. Read the review at https://www.nyjournalofbooks.com/ .
