Allegany Administrator Receives Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award

ALLEGANY, N.Y. - June 17, 2020 - PRLog -- Absolut Care of Allegany is pleased to announce that Administrator Diane Jastrzab has been selected as a recipient of the 2020 Eli Pick Facility Leadership Award by the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA). The award is a distinction of significance, as only 7% of facilities nationwide met the initial selection criteria. This year, seventy-eight administrators in 23 states met all eligibility requirements and were awarded the facility leadership award nationally. Jastrzab also earned the award in 2019.

Jastrzab has been with the company since August of 2015 and is responsible for the overall operation of the facility. She resides in Allegany, NY. "Healthcare is vastly complex and ever changing. The pace is exhilarating. I have been fortunate to have had a career in healthcare for forty years, holding every position from aide, to LPN, to RN, to DON and administrator," Jastrzab stated. "I respect and appreciate the contributions of each and every team member.  Each day is filled with learning and teaching not only from each other; but also, from our dear residents. Based on the premise that facility excellence reflects leadership excellence, the Eli Pick award recognizes the administrator of record who provided such leadership for the full 2019 calendar year. Eligibility for this award is based on three years of skilled nursing facility (SNF) survey data, including health, fire safety and complaint surveys, as well as top quartile performance on designated quality measures. The criteria also included a least an 80% or greater facility occupancy and a three-year avoidance of a special focus facility status. This prestigious award is made possible with the support of ABILITY Network Inc.

The facility leadership award was introduced in 2008 by one of the ACHCA's most revered leaders, the late Eli Pick who was an executive director of the Ballard Rehabilitation Center in DesPlaines, IL for more than 30 years. Pick embodied excellence as an administrator that cared for his residents, their families and his community. This award is presented annually in his memory to those dedicated to advancing professionalism and leadership in long-term care.
