Dubby was a nominee in WAMMIES out of Washington, D.C. At the height of his musical achievements, many editors of media publishers like the Washington Post, Beat Magazine, Billboard, City Paper, and many others wrote about him and his music. He got an invitation from an A/R for EMI Records to hear materials. At that time, he was one of the few reggae artists with a music video called "Wake UP." The video was completed during the time of apartheid in South Africa.

When a tour was about to line up, he got set up by a government informant for uncontrolled substances. He spent several years in the system where he still performed within secured the community. Dubby, aka Kharee Anthony, recorded an album in 2004 before being wrongfully accused and returned to the system. Dubby states, "This Babylon system once they got you they forever want to hold you prisoner so they can wheel and turn you, all you have to do is look at the system's heritage and see if there is Justice or just us." Still, despite everything, Dubby tries to encourage people through difficult times with his song "No Stopping," which is available on iTunes and Amazon Music."

Dubby knows difficult times as his parents both died at an early age, and he resorted to looking to the streets of New York and Washington DC for the opportunity. Dubby says his current album "No Stopping" means don't care what happens in life; you must not give up. He says that the recording did not release under the name Dubby Brodie but under the name "Kharee Anthony" "due to earth runnings." Dubby says his favorite artist is Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel, Chronixx, Damian Marley, Beres Hammon, Buju Banton, and Burning Spear, to name a few.
