'Florida Man' Misadventures Coming to Comic Books
Award-Winning Comic Creator Mike Baron Launching New Comic Project 'Florida Man'
By: Braly Image Group Studios
In light of the tremendous success of his Nexus campaign, raising nearly three times its initial fundraising goal, Mike Baron is announcing his next project. Instead of a prose novel, he's going back into creating comics and is pulling inspiration from his best-selling novel 'Florida Man', which tells the misadventures of a redneck and his girlfriend living in a trailer by the swamp.
Florida Man the Graphic Novel launches as a crowdfunded 56-page prestige bound comic book on Indiegogo this Friday, June 12. The graphic novel dives into the heart of those wild stories we've all seen in the news, headlines, and internet memes and is squarely aimed at grown-ups who still love funny books.
To realize the project, Mike enlisted up and coming illustrator Todd Mulrooney to handle the art chores, and the book is looking at a November release, as long as the backers are there. Baron also enlisted Chris Braly, the managing editor of the geek culture internet journal Bleeding Fool, to handle the editing chores. His team also has a few surprises planned that should delight long-time fans of Mike Baron if the campaign is a hit.
Baron is bringing back "funny books" with this one and the quintessential "Florida Man" is finally getting defined in all his outrageous glory from the heart of one of the most magical and bizarre states in America.
