Local Pool Company Featured in NY Times article and TV feature on Inside Edition

FREEHOLD, N.J. - June 12, 2020 - PRLog -- Central Jersey Pools was recently featured in a NY Times article and a TV feature by Inside Edition for its insight into this summer's pool shortage due to the pandemic. With so many summer camps, schools, fitness centers and community pools shut down for the last few months and counting, coronavirus has spurred a run on backyard pools. But many of them have been hit with something unexpected: a pool shortage as local pool installation companies face an abundance of requests with not enough supply – or time – to meet the demand. Central Jersey Pools' owner Steven Metz was interviewed on Inside Edition on June 5 saying pool sales have tripled this season for his company. And for the first time ever (he's been in business for 63 years), he is completely sold out. For those who want above ground pools, homeowners will have to wait till at least mid-July. Inground pools have a much longer wait.

Metz was also interviewed on June 3 by the NY Times about the prospect of summer being spent close to home setting off a run on aboveground pools. With so many vacations put on hold and resorts closed, people are looking for a cool spot to stay entertained and sane while they wait out the pandemic. For many people, they have more money to spend because they're not paying for summer camps or vacations. They want pools, but companies like Central Jersey Pools just can't keep up. Neither can bulk sand providers, landscapers and retailers who provide crucial products and services related to installing pools.

Metz explained that sales are up exponentially, with wait times stretching into July and calls coming in from as far away as Wisconsin. One woman wanted them to overnight a pool to Long Island!

Seems like masks, hand sanitizer and toilet paper weren't the only things in short supply this past spring.
