Author Dennis Brown was born and grew to adulthood in Oklahoma City during the time of the great depression. He lived this story as a child. He later lived for many years in New England where he was a City Planner.

Kenneth Perkins has illustrated books, games and toy design for over thirty years. He won an award at The Chicago Film Festival for watercolors in a depiction of Ray Bradbury's Frost and Fire and Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island.

Brown and Perkins have known and worked together on various enjoyable projects for three decades.

Where are the Goats? recounts an event from the author's life with his family as a child in Oklahoma, and creates an adventurous journey for the reader. The story follows a family as they look for a place to live. The mother, father, and young boy find a place on a goat farm and it becomes an adventure with the goats as the goats try to burn down the world
