Aspiring medical student launches website to enable social distancing

"The idea for ParkingLotCheckIn.com came to me when a patient arrived for her chemotherapy treatment" says Gwen Ung, the founder of ParkingLotCheckIn.com. "The patient was too nervous to sit in the waiting room with other patients who might unknowingly have COVID-19. The patient wanted to wait in their car."

"The patient asked the nurse to send a text when it was time for their treatment. The nurse wrote the patient name and phone number on a sticky note. Imagine this happening 50 times an hour. Huge potential for errors, confusion and sticky notes all over the place!"

Ms. Ung believes that "even after the current pandemic has passed, at risk populations such as those with underlying illnesses and compromised immune systems such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, etc. will be more concerned about potential threats to their health from close contact with others."

Available today, ParkingLotCheckIn.com enables retail stores, restaurants, medical/dental offices and any business with scheduled customer visits to enable customers and patients alike to self check-in for appointments from the safety of their cars.
