An invitation to the International Social Project
Education is a great system helping to equip young population with the aforementioned skills, which could be basically generalized to the notion of multicultural communication abilities. It's not a surprise that national academic systems today cannot be viewed separately from each other, but congruently. Interuniversity friendship pays back with increased level of globality of the students' minds.
A great example of this activity is the common international intercultural project of Plekhanov Russian University of Economics with the University of the Basque Country. The ideologists of the project are Dr. Dimitrii Enygin from Plekhanov and Dr. Joseba Arregi from the UPV. They received the idea of the project several years ago after some severe misunderstandings with Russian-Spanish ultras in Bilbao, deciding to create some educational project giving birth to love between countries, not hatred. And it had a great success, the students of both universities had to shoot a small video, explaining some basic aspects of their culture, using the example of the place, they were born at.
This year, the project welcomes participants from all over the World and has the title "What do you want the World to know about your country?!".
The project has three main directions:
- Videos (here short videos (3-5 min) from teams of 3-5 people are welcome)
- Social media campaign (posts in social networks are welcome)
- Apps (creating Web/mobile apps about country's culture and stereotypes)
The general idea is to present in your project your country, its culture, true and false stereotypes about it, which you want to break. You have to answer the basic project title question.
The projects must be submitted by the June, 14th to the e-mail: videoprojectfme.prue@
The organisers of the project from Plekhanov Russian University of Economics are: the Vice-Dean for International Releations of the Faculty of Management (basic faculty for both years of the project), Dr. Venera Midova, Associate Professor Dr. Dmitrii Enygin.
From the Basque side the organizing committee includes Vice-dean for International Relations Mr. Pablo Lekue and the Head of Minor in Interculturality, Mr. Joseba Arregi.
