Etgar 36 Announces Socially Distant Summer Civil Rights Journeys

ATLANTA - June 2, 2020 - PRLog -- At a time when America's wellbeing is challenged by the dual epidemics of COVID-19 and systemic racism, Etgar 36, the renown Civil Rights education program is offering one- and two-day journeys for families and individuals which will follow strict social distancing protocols.  Etgar's guided experiences in Montgomery, Selma and Birmingham, Alabama will be thought-provoking and eye-opening for those seeking to understand and address racial disparity.

"With all the upheaval after the deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and George Floyd, people keep asking me, 'What can we do?'" said Billy Planer, Etgar 36 founder and director.  "I tell them that we have to know our history to be able to confront it.  So even with the challenges of COVID-19 this summer, I felt it was important to offer the opportunity to connect in person with our country's Civil Rights stories. Since summer camps have closed and plans changed, I realized that many people are looking for positive, interesting and safe activities, so we learned from infectious disease experts how to have the best program while being compliant with CDC guidelines."

Etgar 36's signature Civil Rights Journey provides engaging and inspiring experiences at sites that are vital to understanding our path to a more just society. Each journey includes studying, experiencing, and learning about the strategies and lessons of the Civil Rights movement, leading participants to awareness and activism. By limiting group size to no more than 20, caravanning to each site and maintaining six-foot distances, families and individuals will add a rich and memorable time to their COVID-19 summer.
