Reports on Russian trade in goods with European countries in Q1 2020

The share of European countries in Russia's total exports has declined significantly in Q1 2020 compared to Q1 2019.
 
MOSCOW, Russian Federation - June 1, 2020 - PRLog -- Russian Foreign Trade has released the reports on Russia's foreign trade in goods with the countries of Europe in the first quarter of 2020.

A brief review of Russia's trade with European countries in the 1st quarter of 2020

The share of European countries in Russia's total trade (exports and imports) declined from 52.36% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 49.20% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of European countries in Russia's total exports declined from 56.75% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 51.73% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The share of European countries in Russia's total imports rose from 43.71% in the 1st quarter of 2019 to 44.96% in the 1st quarter of 2020.

The major trading partners of Russia in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2020:

- The top ten Russia's trade partners in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Germany (7.6185% of Russia's total foreign trade), the Netherlands (6.1953%), Belarus (4.3207%), Italy (3.7541%), the United Kingdom (2.9547%), Poland (2.7679%), France (2.7012%), Finland (2.1755%), Belgium (1.7796%), and Ukraine (1.2829%);
- The top ten Russia's export markets in Europe in the 1st quarter of 2020 were the Netherlands (8.9775% of Russia's total exports), Germany (6.2691%), the United Kingdom (3.7732%), Belarus (3.7505%), Italy (3.5118%), Poland (3.1536%), Finland (2.7816%), Belgium (2.2843%), France (1.6921%), and Latvia (1.3352%);
- The top ten Russia's import suppliers from Europe in the 1st quarter of 2020 were Germany (9.8773% of Russia's total imports), Belarus (5.2750%), France (4.3903%), Italy (4.1595%), Poland (2.1222%), Ukraine (1.6490%), the United Kingdom (1.5845%), the Netherlands (1.5382%), the Czech Republic (1.5135%), and Spain (1.4048%).

The most notable changes in Russia's trade with the countries of Europe in the 1st quarter of 2020 over the 1st quarter of 2019:

- The share of the Netherlands in Russia's total exports declined from 11.6753% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 8.9775% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
- The share of Germany in Russia's total exports declined from 8.4946% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 6.2691% in the 1st quarter of the 2020;
- The share of the United Kingdom in Russia's total exports rose from 1.9249% in the 1st quarter of the 2019 to 3.7732% in the 1st quarter of the 2020.
