Experts discuss the UK's RAS modernisation at Military Robotics and Autonomous Systems 2020

LONDON - May 26, 2020 - PRLog -- Recently, the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) announced the investment of £5milion for five brand-new autonomous land vehicle systems, as part of advancing the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Transformation Fund commitments for the British Army. This forms part of early de-risking work to increase the MOD's understanding of the capabilities and limitations of these systems in areas such as mobility, vulnerabilities and safety.

In the article, the DSTL's Autonomy Lead, Peter Stockel stated "These contracts are a demonstration of the continued commitment to progressing autonomous systems as innovative approaches for developing future Land force logistic capability…" *

With this in mind, this year's conference on the 2^nd-3^rd September 2020 in London, UK, will revolve around the British Army's five RAS priorities of situational awareness, lethality, manoeuvrability, survivability and sustainability, along with a dedicated panel discussion on UK RAS modernisation.
