"They care about the environment and our community, and they bring a wide variety of perspectives to the table based on their field of expertise. The diversity of our board allows us to look at every issue impacting our environment from every angle – how all issues affect our schools, cities, marketplace and community. Each member also brings incredible ideas of ways schools, businesses, cities and organizations can partner with us to make a lasting difference for the good of our community. Our board is a catalyst for a movement to create a cleaner, greener, more sustainable Gwinnett." From the earliest days of Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful's history, the Keep America Beautiful affiliate and award-winning 501(c)(3) charitable organization has been citizen driven. In September 1979, the Lawrenceville Junior Women's Club convened a group of 57 concerned citizens to address the issues of illegal dumping and littering. Since its official launch under the name Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful in 1980, the nonprofit has been led by a Citizens Advisory Board. The current GC&B Citizens Advisory Board is led by Andrew Pourchier of Rhodes, Young, Black & Duncan as Chairman of the Board.
