Higher Court Of Appeal Discards Judgement From Lower Court, Declared Dr. Mahtani As Legal Proprietor

LUSUKA, Zambia - May 8, 2020 - PRLog -- The case of Portland Cement Zambia shows the dark side of being a transparent and ethical person in a corrupt nation. The case pertains to Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani, one of the most respected and honest businessman in Zambia and Portland Cement Zambia, a case which took more than a decade and two different courts to arrive at a confirming decision. After the unethical takeover of the Portland Cement Zambia factory, the case was taken by Dr. Mahtani to the Lusaka High Court. Expectations were simple. Justice on behalf of the Lusaka High Court will evaluate the evidences, testimonials and other details and provide a straightforward decision. However, this did not happen as the case proceedings stretched for more than a decade. During this time, Dr. Rajan Mahtani endured numerous challenges and the Portland Cement factory also suffered heavy losses due to lack of leadership and proper management.

After suffering temporary defeat at the Lusaka High Court, he then registered a case at the higher Court of Appeal claiming that unethical decision was given by the Lusaka High Court judge despite having all evidences and testimonials. While Dr. Rajan Mahtani faced significant mental and political challenges as well as business and financial constraints, he is not among those who falter. At last, the higher Court of Appeal listened to his long-pending appeal and provided a final verdict on the 31st January 2019.

As per the final higher Court of Appeal's verdict, Dr. Rajan Lekhraj Mahtani is the actual owner and majority shareholder of the Portland Cement Zambia factory.
