Family Care Centers Ramps Up Virtual Visits for Urgent and Primary Care
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - May 18, 2020 - PRLog -- Family Care Centers Medical Group has been supporting the communities of Irvine, Fountain Valley, and Costa Mesa for over 30 years with outstanding primary and urgent care services. When Covid-19 hit, the group acted very quickly to offer telehealth services and ensure continued access to healthcare during this public health emergency. Since mid-March, more than 6,000 patients have taken advantage of this convenient and safe option. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive based on survey results from 1,000 patients. A satisfied patient summed up the virtual experience, "Wow …it was easy and quick … loved it!"
Virtual visits allow patients to connect with their healthcare providers through a video call on their mobile device or computer. For most situations, patients can receive high-quality medical care when needed without an in-person visit. The offices are open, so if necessary, patients can come in to be seen as well. During video visits, patients can discuss their health conditions as well as get proper medication and instructions and receive follow-up care as required.
These telehealth interactions are secured, encrypted, and private. Only patients and the healthcare providers involved in the treatment will be present. In addition, patients' conversations with their healthcare providers will be kept confidential. FCC's telehealth services are convenient, and accessible from any location so that every patient can see their healthcare provider. In addition, they are fully covered by most insurance plans.
"The whole nation is facing this COVID-19 pandemic; individuals and families are staying home and practicing social distancing to contain the spread of the virus and minimize cross-infection. However, people still require access to healthcare services and their doctors, especially if they have chronic medical conditions or develop symptoms similar to the novel coronavirus. That's why we acted to quickly to ramp up virtual health options," said Peter Kim MD, Medical Director of Family Care Centers.
He further added, "During this public health emergency, staying connected is important. Our telehealth services make it easier for us to stay connected with our patients and provide them the highest quality healthcare assistance seamlessly and safely."
