The Center for Contemporary Art Offers Online Art Classes for Adults, Teens & Children

BEDMINSTER, N.J. - April 28, 2020 - PRLog -- The Center for Contemporary Art is pleased to offer new online art classes and workshops for adults to its current spring schedule. Online classes and workshops are offered using the ZOOM platform for artists with all levels of expertise in a variety of media including oil and acrylic paint, pastel, watercolor, drawing, collage and ceramics.

Using the ZOOM platform students will be able to see and interact with the teacher and other students, receive personal feedback and instruction from the teacher, participate in live demonstrations, and share their work and ideas. We hope these online classes will create the same sense of community that happens at The Center each day.

New spring classes include "Vibrant Watercolor Florals," Cyber Art Critique," "Acrylic Painting," "Watercolor Step-by-Step,", "Hand Building at Home," "Art Appreciation: What is Postmodernism, and is it Over?" "Oil Painting for Beginners," and "Acrylic Painting."

Two-day spring workshops offer students the opportunity to try something new. Workshops include "Collage," "Simplifying the Landscape in Pastel," "Sketching with Watercolor," "Colored Pencil," "Art Journaling," "Ceramic Workshop with Peter Calls," and more.

Online classes are available for teens and children. "Elements of Design" for children ages 5-8, offers children along with their parent, the opportunity to explore a variety of drawing projects and techniques. Students will create a variety of subject matter including animals (fantasy and real), self-portraits and people, and draw still lifes from toys and objects found around the house. In "The Dynamic Sketchbook" for children ages 9-12, students will go at the artist-book with a no-holds-barred approach. Collage, graffiti, stencils, transfers, decals, drawing and painting and more will be used. Experimentation with methods and materials in this high energy, lively class will be the routine. For Teens, "Drawing In-Depth" provides a break from their normal routine to explore various drawing media. Working from photographs and their imagination, they will create drawings with charcoal, pencil and ink, learning how to use contours, shading, value, and composition.

Online classes will also be offered for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other special needs beginning May 18th.  Students will explore a variety of art projects specifically geared to their interest and ability both in two-and-three dimensional approaches.
