Now, with a group of partners and supporters, the fun is growing with the launch of Yachting's Got Talent, a global talent-sharing collaboration that Maeve and Dave hope will bring a little light relief and sense of connection to uncertain times.
"While the yachting community is very tight, it's also very global – everyone is spread out and it can be hard to connect," explains Maeve. "But we are really only separated distanced by one or two degrees of separation. Everybody knows everybody in some way. That feeling of connection with people all over the world is so important in moments like these."
Maeve feels the purpose and possibility is as simple as a moment of fun but also hopes it contributes to a broader sense of belonging for everyone from sailing and yachting enthusiasts, to crew members and kids from those communities.
People of all ages can get involved, with simple ways for both adults and kids to share (https://www.superyachtradio.com/
"When you share joy, it raises your sense of wellbeing and I think that's the most important thing, especially at the moment" she concludes.
