Area Dog Trainer Maintains Social Distancing While Assisting Cat and Dog Owners Around the Globe

Oscar Winning Behavior uses online platforms to offer private training and classes

RANDALLSTOWN, Md. - April 24, 2020 - PRLog -- Amie Glasgow, ACDBC, CSAT, FSG-I of Oscar Winning Behavior has offered online counseling for years assisting owners of dogs with Separation Anxiety improve their lives, and has expanded her services to help even more families in light of the current pandemic.

Pet owners are faced with more time than they previously had with their pets, and are sometimes finding that they are more aware of behavior issues than they had been in the past.  While they might have slightly more time to work on those problems, finding assistance is tricky with recommendations against guests and further restrictions shutting down most non-essential businesses.

Fortunately, technology allows help to be found, as platforms such as Zoom and Facetime are allowing Oscar Winning Behavior to assist without stepping foot into the client's home and with no regard to distance.  Some clients first struggle with the concept, but are often surprised at how effective this is.  Ben Press, of Baltimore City, had several in-person sessions with Amie Glasgow before the pandemic set in, and has continued with online work during the restrictions.  Of the experience, he said  "I found the online training very helpful. It was different than in-person, but positively so. We were able to pass links back and forth, and were able to be properly corrected and guided to the most effective behaviors for training. Our dog, Dorothy, is also people reactive, and the online format really worked for that. We were able to spend the time efficiently, instead of spending the first 20 minutes calming her down when Amie entered." While many may be nervous they'd lose the personal touch of an in-person trainer, Andy Brouwer of Parkville said of his online training "I really appreciate [Amie's] genuine concern and compassion for Wally and my circumstances. Managing a reactive dog is hard, scary, and emotional at times. Having a caring expert's eyes, ears, and opinions matters. [Amie is] a great resource, and I truly appreciate [she cares]."

Oscar Winning Behavior is also one of the few behavior consultants in Maryland offering help in the under-serviced area of Cat Behavior.  Find them on Facebook or online at www.OscarWinningBehavior.com
