NAPERVILLE, Ill. - April 22, 2020 - PRLog -- The Alive Center is expanding its impact in its 5th year of operation by offering virtual drop-in content, welcoming new bilingual staff, expanding its drop-in hours, and partnering with DuPage Foundation to create a Legacy fund. Founder and CEO Kandice Henning says "The Alive Center is celebrating its 5 year anniversary this May and we are really excited to continue to grow in many ways to support the teens in our community."

Alive has gone live! In response to the Covid-19 outbreak, some Alive programs are now available virtually via Zoom. At Alive, we believe sharing your passion creates purpose! What better time than NOW to encourage youth to get creative, share their passions, and continue to connect? While teens are staying at home, encourage them to stay connected by joining Alive's Virtual Teen Drop-in.

Alive has also expanded its after-school drop-in hours in Naperville until 7pm Monday through Friday. This coming fall, the extra hour will be vital for many teens whose parents commute or work later. Alive's after-school drop-in hours are free for all teens in grades 6-12. Teens can attend simply to relax after school, or they can participate in any of the Teen-Led, Teen-Driven™ programs including STEM programs, healthy lifestyle clubs, tutoring, mentoring, and media and music recording activities.

Alive welcomes back Ady Rubio. Ady began with Alive as an intern in 2017 while she worked on her Masters in Social Work degree from Aurora University. Upon completion, she returned to Alive as a drop-in coordinator and recently attained her Social Work License. Ady is an Aurora native, and works at both the Naperville drop-in hours and the Alive @ Eola drop-in hours in Aurora. Ady is translating Alive's resources for Spanish speaking families and is leading Alive's Diversity and Inclusion Committee. Naperville teens looking for a Spanish speaking drop-in coordinator can visit Ady online at Alive's virtual drop-in or in the fall at Naperville drop-in on Tuesdays and Fridays.

To ensure the long-term stability of the Alive Center, and to provide the donor community with a way to create a greater impact with their charitable gifts, Alive has partnered with the DuPage Foundation to create the Alive Agency Endowment fund. There are many planned giving options that will allow Alive donors to make charitable gifts and take advantage of tax incentives such as bequests, appreciated stocks and securities, and IRA Qualified charitable distributions. By donating to this new fund, individuals, businesses, organizations and foundations that value Alive's mission to provide safe, inclusive empowerment programming for local youth to pursue their passions can now support the long-term success of Alive's Teen-Initiated programs through their new Agency Endowment fund.
