By: Garcia & Artigliere Upon admission to Golden Living Center, the injury victim had already been diagnosed with Moyamoya disease, after surviving a stroke in 2012 that required two brain surgeries and left her left arm and leg weakened. Because Moyamoya disease greatly increases the risk of a repeated stroke event, the staff at Golden Living Center had a responsibility to carefully monitor the victim for signs of ischemic stroke. Despite knowing that every minute counts for those who suffer a stroke, the staff at Golden Living center – Portside failed to react in a timely manner when the injury victim had an ischemic stroke on March 6, 2020. Because she did not obtain treatment in time, the injury victim was left almost unintelligible and even further weakened on her left side.
