FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - April 16, 2020 - PRLog -- Veterans, "Thank You" for your service. If you were unaware there is a NO Cost Medicare Plan for Veterans called Dual Eligible. Seniors can keep their Veteran benefits like prescriptions, and see private Doctor's close to where you live and avoid travel and wait times to get medical treatment.

The VA encourages those who receive health care through its network to sign up for Medicare when they are first eligible. You get seven months to enroll, starting three months before the month in which you turn 65 and ending three months after your birthday month. If you get health care through the Veterans Health Administration and are nearing your 65th birthday, don't overlook Medicare it could make sense for you.

While not all military Veterans rely on VA health care, those who do might not realize they can use Medicare alongside their existing benefits. Many are unaware that they can use both; there are a lot of options for Veterans when it comes to Medicare.

With Medicare Advantage plan, you have much broader options. You can have the option to access doctors and hospitals not near a VA facility, or you might want a second opinion from a doctor outside the VA system."

People with VA health care can go to a Dual Eligible Medicare Advantage Plan that has a low or no premium (free) cost. It includes Medicare Parts A and B; these plans often come with extras such as dental and vision coverage, or gym memberships. If you decide not to use the plan, you don't have to.

Some people with VA health care who sign up for Medicare Parts A and B decide to get a Medigap – Medicare Supplement policy instead of an Advantage Plan, you cannot have both.
