'Rap Pedestal' a Hip Hop Spotify Playlist

A Spotify playlist ready to browse, listen, and share with hip hop music followers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - April 14, 2020 - PRLog -- Many times, when the words explicit and unsigned proceed the word music, listeners tend to shy away or pass over those songs.

From my understanding and a little reading … "Hip hop arose during the 1970s when block parties became increasingly popular in New York City, especially in the Bronx. Block parties incorporated DJs who played popular genres of music, especially funk and soul music. DJs, realizing its positive reception, began isolating the percussion breaks of popular songs". Some may argue that, commercially, Hip Hop has been choked by the greed for the almighty dollar & HIP HOP has become more materialized in the fashion aspect and simplified in the content. Unfortunately, the lack luster content (the lyrics) go unnoticed due to amazing new beats that are now created mainly due to new technology. Talent breeding no longer takes place in urban areas where HIP HOP was born, the simplification of content makes it less complex which takes away from the context, & basically waters down the culture. HIP HOPS` purest live by the basic five points of HIP HOP, however the five points are being neglected and will eventually be eliminated, problem is it's what the culture strives on, if we go back to the fundamentals we can transcend back to the pure.

With that being said, one particular Spotify playlist that contains explicit songs from unsigned artist is Rap Pedestal. It is a playlist of up and coming, unsigned artist specifically made to be played for A&Rs, Producers, Writers, Managers, and other artists. Although, it was created as a network playlist, it is also a playlist that many music fans will surely dig. It contains not just pretty beats (although the beats are delicious) but solid content (yes, referring to the lyrics again) delivered by pure talent.

This playlist is 3 hours and 13 minutes of mostly hip hop, r&b, soul, with a little hint of Urbano Latino, pop and country. Although many of the artist's names may not be instantly recognized this does not mean they are new to the game. And if they are new to the game …  they surely deserve and will get plenty of game minutes. Give it a listen https://spoti.fi/3ejYOCZ
