Indianapolis police officer killed in line of duty to be honored with fundraiser for her family

SMITHFIELD, N.C. - April 10, 2020 - PRLog -- Patriotic lifestyle brand Shield Republic Charities announced today that their newest "Hold the Line" apparel fundraiser will recognize the sacrifice of Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Officer Breann Leath. Officer Leath was fatally shot April 9 while responding to a domestic disturbance call on the 1800 block of Edinburge Square near 21st Street and North Franklin Road on the east side of the city.

While responding to the disturbance call, Officer Leath was struck by gunshots from the apartment. She died after being transported to the hospital.

Through Shield Republic Charities' Hold the Line fundraiser for Officer Leath, special USA-made apparel including t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, hoodies, ladies' tank tops and decals will be made available for sale, with 100 percent of net proceeds donated to Officer Leath's family via the Central Indiana Police Foundation.

The 24-year-old officer and mother to a young son had served with the Army National Guard prior to joining the IMPD in late 2017. A graduate of Southport High School in Indianapolis, she had dreamed of serving as a police officer since she was a child.
