Yours Humanly Announces Three Recipients of its Children Have the Power to Empower Award

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - March 31, 2020 - PRLog -- Yours Humanly, a global nonprofit that provides underprivileged children in underserved communities access to quality educational programs and resources, has announced three recipients of its quarterly Children Have the Power to Empower® Award, which recognizes children for their outstanding acts of goodness.

The Children Have the Power to Empower® Award showcases "service to others" in a meaningful way and demonstrates to family, friends, and community that even children have the power to empower when they lend a helping hand and an open heart.

David Lauritzen, 9, of Katy, Texas, received the award for the work he performs through his nonprofit David's Toy Project, helping to bring smiles to the faces of pediatric cancer patients during times when smiles are hard to find. He has raised more than $50,000, which has allowed him to purchase and donate tens of thousands of toys to children.

Owen Jassak, 11, of Sauquoit, New York, received the award for helping American military veterans receive the care they deserve by raising vital funds for Sitrin Health Care Center's Military Rehabilitation Program in Upstate New York. Jassak has raised more than $40,000 for veterans and has been the top fundraiser for his local Stars & Stripes Run/Walk.

Devin Moore, 15, of Bay Shore, New York, received the award for the work he performs through his organization #RaceToSpeakUp, an anti-bullying organization that advocates for laws that would help keep children safe from bullying and harassment. With passion and dedication, Moore raises awareness of the pervasive and destructive nature of bullying among children of all ages.
