The new building is approximately 23,000 square feet, nearly double the size of SEAM's previous operations. In addition to its current industrial hard drive and media shredding capabilities, the facility will house new document shredding equipment, custom proprietary tracking software, advanced alarm and security systems, and strategically planned process improvements. "Since beginning operations in 2013, we've been able to fill the gap for secure IT recycling and resale services in the region," states Jake Anderson, President and CEO, "Along with a larger facility footprint, this move will allow us to improve process efficiencies and upgrade our asset tracking system for more complete customer transparency." As the only R2 (Responsible Recycling Practices) and e-Stewards-certified provider in the Dakotas, the new facility will meet the same stringent security, environmental, health and safety standards as the current facility. "Our biggest challenge over the years has been educating organizations on the importance of due diligence and responsible practices when it comes to data destruction and electronics recycling, particularly in heavily regulated industries like healthcare, financial services and education," says Anderson, "Once companies understand the risks, we've seen a positive response with the realization of the need for a certified partner like SEAM, which has led to us outgrowing our current facility." The new space reflects the innovative culture of SEAM as it strives to make it a great place to work. The facility features technology-enabled process stations and conference capabilities for enhanced reporting and communications with customers, partners and offsite employees.
