Sunshine Ace Hardware erects safety shields to protect customers, associates

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - March 26, 2020 - PRLog -- Sunshine Ace Hardware has responded to a heightened awareness of social distancing and safety precautions by installing safety shields around registers at all of its locations along Florida's west coast.

One of Sunshine Ace Hardware's core values is "Create Solutions Through Imagination." The company used this opportunity to challenge store managers and their teams to develop an innovative solution that would help protect customers and associates from potentially spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19). Barriers used metal, PVC pipe and wood to support plexiglass and plastic shields.

"It was a truly creative and friendly, MacGyver-style competition in response to safety," said Sunshine Ace President Michael Wynn. "I am proud of my team's smart and prompt innovation."

Shortly after Sunshine Ace Hardware launched the installation of its plastic barriers in mid-March, other major retailers, including Publix, Winn-Dixie and Kroger, began installing similar devices in their stores.

Each of Sunshine Ace Hardware's locations remains open to serve the community, with only slight amendments to store hours that are allowing ample time for thorough cleaning and restocking.

"For the past month, Sunshine Ace Hardware has been ahead of the curve in a continued effort to meet the needs of our community," Wynn said. "We are working closely with our vendors to source and continually restock supplies and products to meet the high-demand, global supply challenges."

Additionally, Sunshine Ace Hardware has announced free pickup and curbside services at all stores, as well as online delivery options, to meet the needs of the communities it serves. Customers can easily place orders online at AceHardware.com, select their store location and then choose between pickup, curbside service or delivery. When opting for free curbside service, customers can call the designated store phone number (below) to alert staff that they have arrived in the parking lot. A team member will deliver orders curbside. Customers are advised that some high-demand items may not be available online due to quickly shifting inventory.
