More Density Near Transit Stops in City of Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES - March 26, 2020 - PRLog -- Los Angeles Planning Department is working on revising zoning ordinances to allow more density around transit stops. Specifically, Metro Orange Line stops in Van Nuys and North Hollywood are being considered for the zoning adjustments. This only makes sense since traffic is only getting worse in LA.  Building more residential units around transit stops provides more housing options that allows Angelinos to get out of their cars and start using public transportation, which is better than sitting in traffic. Several changes include greater density on existing multifamily zones, changing single family zones to allow 4 units, and changing industrial zones to promote mixed use with residential and neighborhood retail uses.  With popularity of Uber and car sharing, some Angelino's will probably eventually opt out of having a car at all. I grew up in the San Fernando Valley and never imagined living here without a car. Seems like Los Angeles is transitioning away from being a car culture. Would you willing to give up your car in Los Angeles? Feel free to reach out to me with comments and opinions.  #losangeles; #planning#, #realestate #architect, #landuse
