Startup donates it's income to fight COVID-19

NEW YORK - March 24, 2020 - PRLog -- Belarusian-American startup Oyper (recognized as the best technology startup in Europe in Barcelona, 2019 https://emerging-europe.com/news/belarusian-oyper-named-europes-best-tech-startup/; Google trusted partner, Verizon 5G Labs Future of Retail member) currently engaged in the development of artificial intelligence for the monetization of video content, to donate its income starting March 23, 2020 and at least for the remaining quarter, to combat the coronavirus epidemic.

"Despite the fact that the consumption of online video content has increased significantly in recent weeks, as well as the demand for our solution, we believe that the time has come to put the problems of society both in Belarus and in the world at large above earnings . We believe that our duty is to contribute to the struggle that our country and the whole world are engaged in. The board of directors decided unanimously to donate all our revenue from API subscription to video monetization starting March 23, 2020 and for the rest of the quarter to healthcare institutions and public organizations involved in the fight against coronavirus. Owing to the previous grants from Google and Verizon 5G Labs, Oyper will be able to operate stably in the foreseeable future despite this action." - says CEO Oyper Kiryl Sidarchuk.

"We are currently making money from our API by delivering it on monthly subscription to video content providers and other companies who use our visual search. Starting Monday, we will reduce the cost of subscripion to the API to $ 0 for 3 months in advance for video content providers, and we will direct all affiliate income to charity. Reducing the cost of subscription to the API to $ 0 for video services, we support providers' own decision to enable free access for the viewer in connection with the COVID-19 epidemic."

A reasonable question: what income are we going to give to charity if we provide the API for free? "In addition to the paid API subscription, we also earn commissions from retailers who sell their wares to viewers using our technology (affiliate revenue).

A huge positive is that each viewer who makes a purchase through services, which use our API will actually participate in donating money to fight a common problem. The same applies to our direct customers - video content providers. Giving the viewer the opportunity to buy through video, they not only provide cool functionality, but also contribute to the common cause."- adds Kiryl Sidarchuk.

P.S We are happy to discuss any options for affiliate programs with anyone who shares our goals in this matter.
