By: Oral Cancer Initiative
CHICAGO - March 30, 2020 - PRLog -- Oral Cancer Initiative is excited to announce the recent hire of Kevin Maidy as Vice President of Education & Training. Kevin will be developing his position in the Chicago based offices of OCI. Within these roles, he will be responsible for developing and implementing seminars and training content to assist dentists in educating patients and substantiating the importance of regularly scheduled exams, which include oral cancer screenings. These opportunities to reach patients won't only occur in the office, but with videos and webinars, he will produce. Kevin will also be working with the Oral Cancer Initiative Dental Advisory Board to deliver relevant content. With the combination of so many dedicated professionals like Kevin, OCI will meet its goals.
Kevin brings over twenty-five years of experience in the dental industry. While trained as a dental laboratory technician, he went on to work with major dental companies in various positions from sales, sales management, education, and training. Having worked for Vita North America, Oral-B (Gillette, P&G), SS White Dental, and DaVinci Laboratories. Throughout his years in this industry, he has demonstrated leadership in sales, sales management, sales training, and management training. Kevin was continually involved in developing Education and Training concepts and events. These experiences more than qualify Mr. Maidy for his new role.
Oral Cancer Initiative has been offering free oral cancer screenings through school districts. Each event has reached about 25,000 people, and OCI plans to resume these events after the COVID-19 health crisis ends. In the interim, Oral Cancer Initiative will implement opportunities to reach and respond to concerned people and refer them to dentists as needed. The OCI Dental Advisory Board's primary mission is to increase biannual patient exams and increase the dentists' commitment to performing the oral cancer screening at each dental visit. Kevin's expertise will be crucial in providing information and referrals during this time. Oral Cancer kills one person per hour in this country, and early detection is critical in saving lives. Much of the general public is unaware of this fast-growing cancer.
Karl Kay, CEO of Oral Cancer Initiative, is taking advantage of Mr. Maidy's experience in the dental care products industry. "Kevin comes to us with years of experience in dental education. He is exactly what the Oral Cancer Initiative needed to complete our management team, already fighting oral cancer."
