San Joaquin Valley College in Delano Announces New Campus Director
With cross-cultural ties to both the Hispanic and Filipino community, Rugnao has spent years serving and supporting students in Delano. As the first college graduate among eight siblings, Rugnao has always understood the value of an education and the role it can play in improving the lives of individuals as well as their local communities.
"I am excited to serve as the new campus director of SJVC Delano," said Rugnao. "My goal is to enhance the community through the lives of our students by providing a quality education and excellent community service," added Rugnao. "I look forward to supporting our students and helping them meet the needs of our local employers."
Rugnao is a member of the Delano Chamber of Commerce and has played an important part in developing relationships with employers such as Delano Regional Medical Center. He has been an advocate of supporting secondary schools such as Robert F. Kennedy High School through events and sponsorships, while helping to drive campus-wide support for the annual Philippine Weekend in Delano, which celebrates Filipino heritage with a parade, entertainment, food and other cultural ceremonies.
"It is an honor to serve in this new role and make sure students receive a valuable education," said Rugnao. "We will continue to support them throughout the student life-cycle, from the minute they step foot on campus to the moment they walk across the stage at graduation,"
The SJVC Delano campus offers career-focused instruction with hands-on training that specifically focus on the skills employers demand. The campus is located in Kern County, Calif. between the city of Bakersfield and Visalia, off U.S. Route 99 (Golden State Hwy).
