To win at negotiating for a car, a home, a better job or a raise in pay "You'll need more than a favorite technique or two in your arsenal," says Dr. Gary S. Goodman.
Goodman, founder of The Negotiation School and frequent lecturer at UCLA and UC Berkeley has identified 77 Best Practices in Negotiation that should guide your strategy. These are contained in his just-published paperback and eBook bearing the same title.
Issued by G & D Media, and now available at Amazon.com, these written versions launched on March 10, 2020, joining his 77 Best Practices in Negotiation audio book voiced by Goodman and published by Gildan Media, in October, 2019.
As a top keynote speaker, businessperson, Fortune 500 consultant, best-selling author and attorney, Goodman has personally negotiated thousands of contracts.
Harking back to one memorable deal with an industrial giant, Goodman's counterpart seemed to be taking an especially long time in formulating his language. After hearing the sentence conclude, Goodman asked which famous negotiation author's gambits was the other person using, mentioning three names.
Sheepishly, the Senior VP replied, "The middle one." After being caught in his stumbling strategy, the usually steely deal maker abandoned artifice and quickly came to terms with the author.
"People are very smart and well informed, and chances are they'll spot your ploys, especially if you repeat them," Goodman warns.
Goodman says this isn't a reason to abandon all strategy, but to be more comprehensive in developing one, while smoothly and confidently accessing 77 Best Practices in Negotiation.
Goodman can be reached directly at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org or at (818) 970-GARY (4279), for further comment and for information about his popular keynote speeches, speeches, corporate consulting, and career coaching.
