Follow on Google News | Children's Book Author Announces Fundraiser to Help with Upcoming ReleaseJocelyn M. Lacey is a native of Johnson City, TN, where she graduated from Science Hill High School and East Tennessee State University. She met her husband, Steven Lacey, at ETSU, but they now reside in Maine with their dog, cat, and fish. Lacey is the author of two children's books — Pierre the Peacock, the story of a peacock who believes his pretty looks will supply him with friendship only to discover with the help of a colorblind little boy that what matters is how you treat people, and Coral's First Sleepover which follows Coral, a young mermaid, as she struggles with acceptance amongst her peers and questions whether or not she can take her special blanket to her first sleepover. Lacey's upcoming book, What Do Police Officers Do, aims to teach children about the crucial work police forces provide. Lacey has dedicated the book to all of the police officers who risk their lives daily to protect the citizens and communities they swore to serve, as well as in memory of all the fallen police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Donators to Lacey's GoFundMe will be gifted a signed copy the book after its release. Jocelyn M.
