Living Waters receives Excellence in Mental Health Awareness Award

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - March 10, 2020 - PRLog -- Living Waters Inc received the "Excellent in Mental Health Awareness" award at the Masjid Ash-Sheed Moral Summit Weekend. The Moral Summit Weekend was an Interfaith program designed to address the moral issues in the Charlotte community and discuss what can be done to improve them. Representatives from the Business, Political, Community Service and religious communities will be honored for their contributions over the years. The theme of the weekend is: Cultivating the Growth of Human Excellence in Difficult Times.

Living Waters Inc serves as an independent link to faith-based communities to collaborate and partner with public and private sectors. They believe that the way to reduce racial/ethnic disparities in America requires the work and cooperation of many individuals, communities, organizations, and institutions. They also mandate the development of key messages for communicating with various audiences regarding the social conditions that affect the health and socioeconomic issues facing our communities.  These audiences include the general public, public and behavioral health employees, business leaders, and groups affected by health disparities, policymakers and media.

Living Waters Inc is sponsoring the Mental Health Summit on April 16th at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, from 9am -3pm. The summit features a day-long program with a keynote, moderated discussions, plenary, panel discussion, breakout sessions and exhibitors featuring Behavioral Health service providers.  It brings together clergy, faith communities, behavioral health professionals and civic servants to discuss common concerns about accessing mental health care and ways to work together to support mental health consumers, their families and caregivers.
