'MBF' Earns Official Selection/Nominations at Major Film Festivals

LANSING, Mich. - March 9, 2020 - PRLog -- For the fifth consecutive year Collective Development Incorporated (CDI) is an 'Official Selection' with a feature film in one of the world's largest faith/family film and music festivals.

'MBF: Man's Best Friend,' distributed thru Bridgestone Multimedia Group, will premiere in Florida during the International Christian Film & Music Festival in Orlando during the May 13-16 event at the Wyndham International Resort.

But preceding the ICFF, 'Man's Best Friend,' an 'Official Selection' of the Capital City Film Festival, will play Lansing (Mich.) during the April 9th thru 18th event.

'MBF,' held its World Premiere in Owosso, Mich., to sellout audiences and was a 'Best Picture' award winner at the Equus Film & Art Festival in Lexington, Ky. last December.

The Official Selection status at the ICFF also came with a nomination for 'Most Inspirational' in the juried competition and three nominations for DJ Perry, CDI's CEO, in the 'People's Choice Awards' division.

Mr. Perry, who penned the previous four CDI feature film selections into the ICFF (The Quest Trilogy: 'Forty Nights,' 'Chasing the Star' and 'The Christ Slayer'; and the 1870s-era 'Wild Faith'), all of which yielded many nominations and awards, was nominated for the 'People's Choice' for 'Best Screenplay of the Year,' 'Best Actor in a Feature Film of the Year' and 'Filmmaker of the Year.'

Anthony Hornus, director of 'MBF,' said, "Individual awards are nice, but filmmaking is one of the most collaborative endeavors to be undertaken requiring hundreds of artists."

'Man's Best Friend' follows Sgt. Paul Landings (DJ Perry), a Marine Corps dog handler, from the killing fields of Afghanistan to his small Michigan town. Paul struggles to fit in due to his PTSD and TBI suffered in war. His only semblance of peace and purpose are his rescue dogs until shattered by a cowardly act.

"The  'Inspirational' nomination represents all our artists and the 'Best Filmmaker' nomination is an honor for our entire CDI team. Filmmaking is a team effort" - DJ Perry

The ICFF receives approximately 1,200 film submissions per festival year from around the world. The ICFF is the only faith-family festival with a film screening at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in France each year.

The Capital City Film Festival, has become one of Michigan's top film showcases. This year's CCFF received 600 submissions from around the world. "Man's Best Friend was among the best," said festival directors. "We're proud to celebrate your work and screen it in this year's festival."
