NEW YORK - Feb. 28, 2020 - PRLog -- Luxy starts the 1 Billion Steps challenge on March 3, to tackle Global warming. All daters in the top three cities will receive a free premium membership and the most prolific walkers will get health gadgets, including watches and ECG monitors.

How does the 1 Billion Steps challenge work?
Luxy wants to bring more attention to to the importance of protecting our earth. This can only succeed if everybody in the world assists.  Our members are contributing by walking whenever possible to actually tackle global warming. Every person's steps will be counted to the city where he or she is located at the time of signing up for the challenge. The people who's city will reach the total of 1 billion steps first is the winner. The pedometer feature can found within the Luxy app and is linked to the default health apps pre-installed on smartphones.

Making an impact with its successful and influential members
Raffael Krause, Brand Manager at Luxy, said: "Our point is to make an impact with our members to their everyday behavior. At the end, if most will change just a little and will remember then we already reached our goal." With a fun challenge, Lucy creates awareness to this topic to its wealthy and influential users. Not everybody might stand positive towards actions to fight climate change, but if there is no change now, in a couple of years many amenities well-off and wealthy people enjoy today might not be possible anymore.

Luxy members and interested ones can monitor the challenge on social media by following #WalkMyCity and #BillionStepsChallenge #OnLuxy 's channels.

Luxy has attempted to tackle other important issues, particularly in the online dating industry. Last year, the app focused on preventing catfishing and scamming by introducing a new system which required users to verify their identity when signing up.
