SAN ANTONIO - Feb. 18, 2020 - PRLog -- "The message is straightforward and urgent: 'interesting' times like these force us to choose between our principles and our survival... A unique, intriguing read, told in a masterly style." – Amazon reviewer

"Imagine yourself – wounded in the hip by a pistol shot, groggy from medications – awakening to find yourself in a luxurious penthouse hospital bed in Austin, in a ward tended by robotic orderlies, sometime in the 2030s. The United States of America has become a land where extremely right-wing media has run amok while xenophobia and racism abound, where all the social safety nets have been ripped apart, where NATO no longer includes the U.S., and an alt-right successor to Donald Trump is serving his second term as president. And, oh, it just so happens that you have a verbally abusive, highly narcissistic, billionaire half-uncle by marriage who runs a shady business empire that includes disreputable halfway houses for young people with mental health problems. He wants to occupy the Oval Office himself – and needs your help to do so. That is the world into which Horace Mann Fimple, LPC, reluctantly awakens at the outset of Tom Walker's brilliant new novel The Man in the Empty Suit." – San Antonio Express-News review

A psychological counselor, Fimple is suffering from amnesia after sustaining a gunshot wound. He tries to remember the years since Trump left office, because he can no longer recognize what America has become.

As his memory returns, Fimple realizes the hospital he is in is owned by his half-uncle, a Trump-like corporatist who wants to run for president and has hired Fimple to oversee three sexually addicted young people to keep them out of the news. For if a sex scandal arises in the evangelical right-wing post-Trump era, Fimple's uncle would fail in his presidential bid.

Can Fimple show the moral courage needed in immoral times?
