The garment and textile industry got a major boost with Budget 2020-21 with the setting up of Technical Textiles Mission, abolition of anti-dumping duty on purified terephthalic acid (PTA), correction of inverted duty structure in GST, review of Rules of Origin under the existing free trade agreements, and the launch of NIRVIK scheme. These developments are a step in the positive direction even for trade exhibitions, as they would get more leeway in expanding their scale of operations and would offer the industry an even better platform to gather and connect.
