AMARILLO, Texas - Feb. 14, 2020 - PRLog -- Top of Texas Catholic Superstore is hosting a Community Prayer Event on February 21, 2020, from 7-9 PM, to kick off the season of Lent in preparation for Easter. Members of the Catholic community can utilize this season to fast, purify the mind and heart, and to reflect on the death and resurrection of Christ.

This Community Prayer Event will focus on "Lent with the Family," where speaker Fr. Jim Schmitmeyer will provide tools and discussion on creative ways to celebrate Lent in your home. Father Schmitmeyer is a homiletic instructor, an author, and the pastor of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Amarillo, TX. He will also be doing a book signing of his book, which is a collection of homilies, "Preaching at the Truckstop: Homilies on the Way to the Big Bash."

"We are thrilled to have Fr. Schmitmeyer come and share his knowledge and wisdom with our community, as Lent is one of the most important events that take place in a Catholic believer's faith, leading up to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We would love to have you join us!" - Dwayne Rickwartz, Owner, Top of Texas Catholic Superstore
