Clearwater Community Volunteers Center Announces Baby Shower Supply Drive for Foster Children

CLEARWATER, Fla. - Feb. 13, 2020 - PRLog -- In partnership with the staff of the Clearwater Community Volunteers Center, the Pinellas County Foster and Adoptive Parent's Association (PCFAPA) is collecting baby wipes, toddler toys, baby formula and crib blankets to help new foster families get a jump start on their lives with newborn foster babies placed in their care. Any supplies can be dropped off at the CCV Center, located on the corner of Fort Harrison Ave. and Drew St. and will be distributed to families who have recently adopted or fostered a child under the age of 2

"For a birth mother, she has nine months to prepare for her child. A foster parent may have very short notice to pull together all of the supplies they need for the arrival of a child," Michael Soltero, Manager of the CCV Center. "In July last year, PCFAPA held their first baby shower for foster families in the CCV Center. It turned out to be a great opportunity to back up those families who support those children in our community who need it most."

Donors can drop off the needed supplies from 10am to 10pm Sundays through Fridays, and 1pm to 10pm on Saturdays. All of the donated baby care items will be given away at PCFAPA's next Foster Family Baby Shower on 7 March.

PCFAPA's mission, in part, is to provide quality training, support and activities to member foster and adoptive families while striving to provide parents with the resources to effectively handle the challenges they face in raising our communities' children.

The CCV center provides its facilities as an event venue to nonprofits and volunteer organizations at no cost. "Humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard once said that the greatest human right there is, is the right to help," said Soltero, "and we try to exercise that right every day."

For a full list of the supplies needed, or to reserve the CCV Center's facilities for your nonprofits event, you can contact the center directly during its business hours at (727) 316-5309 or by emailing ccvcenter@ccvfl.org.
