By: GetReadyMedia During his time off, he started a charity for a cause that he believes in, he also became a part owner of a clothing line and a share holder in a digital music distribution company. Kamar's fencing career begun with one question. What are the kids gonna do during summer vacation? His God Mother came up with the idea to send all the kids to a fencing club, instead of them doing nothing all summer. No one imagined, he would go on to earn over 150 trophies and medals, and fence all over the world. These days the Atlanta native spends more time traveling to fencing competitions representing team USA and training abroad, in places that most of us has only heard of. Currently training in Paris France, Kamar heads to competitions in Poland in a few days, from there, he heads to Italy, then El Salvador, for the Pan American games. The tournament where he took home the Gold in San Jose Costa Rica in 2018. Winning that tournament made him #1 in all of the America's that year, which is made up of 23 countries that cover Central America, South America, the Caribbean, the USA and Canada. For the past several years, Kamar has been consistently winning against the odds, as he prepares for 2020 world championships, we asked Kamar. "Why fencing"?. His reply was simple, " I do it for the culture". Follow Kamar Skeete on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/ End
